Bienvenidos! We are fresh off the beaches of Cancun and ready to share some pics of that wonderful part of the world with you! We went with the Burleigh side of the family, though John, Annie, Lincoln & Baby Belly #2 weren't able to join us this year -- WE MISSED YOU GUYS. Honestly, the family just isn't complete without, well, the entire family! We all decided we'll just have to go again :-)
Mexico was good to Anabelle. Perhaps it was the fact that she had her own passport, but she seemed to grow up on the trip! She didn't make a peep on any of the flights (the joys of traveling with an infant - I'm sure that will change!) She started eating more and she even had her first real giggle session! We caught it on video, but sadly it cannot be transferred to the internet, so you'll have to come for a visit to see it. She has been smiley and giggly ever since and that is SO much fun. We did realize that perhaps the tropical vacation should be postponed until the baby is 6 months though & able to wear sunscreen as much of our trip was just taking shifts with her inside or sitting under the shade. The sun is so intense though, it would come right through the umbrellas, so we had to get crafty about where we could sit and she could be safe. It was quite windy most of the days, so she stayed cool in her stroller tent we made up. It was another lesson in sacrifice for us parents... I have to give kudos to Adam as he covered many of those shifts as I tanned. The fam pitched in too and it all worked out well.
Some highlights include Adam going scuba diving, a photo shoot with Anabelle & cousin Isabel on the beach (and yes, there was the token wave incident which Anabelle narrowly missed and Isabel got a bit more of -- you can see her wet dress in the pics!), banana monkeys by the pool at happy hour (that was for you Mom), rummikub & settlers tournaments, and daily spa visits.
The only damper on the trip was the fact that we all got sick. Not from Montezuma's Revenge, as you would imagine, but we all either got a bad cold or the flu. Not sure what it is about family gatherings and sickness, but I'm ready for this trend to stop. We are all on the mend now though & did our best to not let those illnesses stop us!
It was a great trip & we are blessed to be able to have gone. Thank you Burleighs for the memories -- we look forward to the next trip!

That little bikini picture of Annabelle is just to DIE for. What a cute little chunk! She's really quite a looker. I love her beautiful little face! I'm glad you guys had fun, but sad you got sick! That's a big fat bummer. I'm also a little envious that you get all these amazing family trips to warm tropical places. Maybe it's time to plan a trip to Los Angeles ... ??? ;) Thanks for the call the other day. It was great to hear your voice. Finals is next week, but I will try to get back to you soon! We definitely need to catch up. Give that sweet little girl a kiss for me ;).
