The Visit We've All Been Anticipating!!

Oliver has now officially been hemmed and hawed over by his Grandpa & Grandma Roberts! We all enjoyed a long weekend together at our homestead... another perk about having a baby ~ loved ones flock to you =) Of course the time went by quickly, but we had a great time doing, well, pretty much whatever we felt like each day. Mom & Dad Roberts were super easy to have around (not even once complaining about their "bed", ie, a mattress on the floor in the office/nursery!) and they smoothly went with the ever-flexing schedule that comes with having 2 kids in tow. We rarely got out of the house before noon, but hey, we got out of the house, right?! The time consisted of being entertained by Anabelle & Oliver, eating out at some great restaurants, a brief outlet shopping spree, movies at home AND at the theatre (Oli's first movie experience was to see "Inception" ~ not a bad way to start off!), coffee dates, Adam+Anabelle+Dad jogs, cards, sleeping in, and oh yes, being entertained by Anabelle & Oliver. I will add that Adam & Dad added 'cleaning & recarpeting the basement' to that list of activities as we had a water leak down there on Friday. Probably something that we all could've lived without, but it was sort of nice that it happened while we had some helpful hands around!

So, once again, a good time was had by all. I woke up this morning and found myself sad to have such an empty house... and no one to help juggle my kids! =) Whenever we are all able to be together I am reminded by how blessed we are to have such great family surrounding & supporting us. Just wish Maryland and Idaho weren't so very far apart!! But, thank goodness for airplanes and parents willing and able to travel! We love you Mom & Dad Roberts ~ thanks for all the F.U.N.

Mom arrived on Wednesday night and eagerly cuddled her 8th grandchild!
Well hello there Oli
On Thursday, Mom, Anabelle & I went to meet Adam for lunch at the playground by the airport. LOVE this place as it's one of the only playgrounds I have found that AB can navigate all by herself! PLUS, every few minutes a gigantic plane swoops by en route to the nearby landing strip. When not too busy playing, Anabelle stops, points at the sky and exclaims "OOOOH!"
Sliding in shades
She's such a character... she doesn't even bother to fix her sunglasses, just walks around like this
OOOOH! Airplane!
More sassy walking
Looks like Mom has the special touch with Oliver!
I got Anabelle some rain boots and she loves them. We've actually had to hide them she loves them so much -- she can't stand not putting them on, taking them off, putting them on, taking them off, etc.
(Dad) Lawrence arrives to meet his namesake Oliver Lawrence
Anabelle successfully eating toast with a spoon. She was the carb queen that morning
Soooo, Adam has been giving me a hard time about my 'ability' to fall prey to any sort of infomertial... However, this time I will say I was right! I had kept saying Anabelle would really like the froggy pillow pet, and Adam must've tipped off his parents because what did they show up with for Anabelle??.... A PILLOW PET!!! Not sure if it was more for her or for me =), but the kid LOVES her pillow pet!
Pre Pillow Pet, Anabelle was rather indifferent to gifts. However, this present opening experience was precisely what you always hope one will be. She lit up, squealed, hugged and kissed her pillow pet, and was simply ecstatic!
Smiles all around
How did you know?!?!
We now sing the pillow pets theme song "It's a pillow, it's a pet, it's a pillow pet" quite regularly. Mom & Adam even got to see her react when the real commercial came on... she squealed and ran to pound on the TV then run to her pillow pet and hug it.
Dad blowing bubbles for Anabelle

Putting the pillow pet to good use
And there they all are folks! Adam, Oliver, Mom & Dad R.
The 3 Generations together at last!
Oli loves his Grandpa already (obviously)
We decided this is a picture we will laugh at in years to come. In AB's defense, she did have a bit of a fever and was out of sorts that night and wasn't quite in the mood to cooperate for, say, a picture =) Do note that the blanket draped on the couch was HANDMADE with love by Momma R. for Baby Oliver! We were impressed.
G'night Oliver ~ everyone loves you!!
